Get Started by purchasing a glucose meter

A tool that we strongly suggest you purchase and use as you make your way through the Sweet Spot program is a blood glucose meter, also known as a glucometer. Over the decades of guiding people to balanced blood sugar, I’ve found that those who test their blood sugar and monitor their reactions to food and lifestyle choices are the participants who get the best results because they can personalize the program for their unique needs.

You will be using the glucose meter and monitoring your results starting Week One in the program. So that you can fully participate when the time comes, I suggest you purchase your meter as soon as possible. They are readily available in major US pharmacy chains, like Walgreens and CVS, and also online through Amazon.

Testing your glucose is not mandatory, but a good idea to give you accurate information about how your body responds to food.

My favorite is Keto Mojo. It measures both Ketones and glucose. We’ll talk more about ketones later.    http://www.thesweetspotsolution.com/Keto-Mojo

I reviewed over a dozen meters and created a chart. The latest version of the Glucose Meter Shopping Guide is here (3/15/20)

In Week One, you’ll learn how to test and track, and how to track your reactions to food is you choose not to test glucose.  For now, all you need to do is purchase or borrow a meter.

Some people are concerned about glucose testing because they are afraid it will hurt.  For those with very sensitive skin, there is a special device called the Genteel that you can use to poke your finger and get the tiny amount of blood you need for testing. Many of our participants have used this and LOVE it.  You can find out more, and order a Genteel Lancing Device HERE.
