Action Steps:
- Find a client or family member to guide through food allergy assessment, elimination diet and provocation phase
- Use the Food Allergy Assessment to determine whether your client is likely to have hidden food allergies or intolerances.
- Identify potential food triggers using the food frequency checklist and the Learning to Spot Potential Trigger Foods document
- Track their food intake and symptoms using the Diet and Symptom Tracker and Suspicious Food Tracking documents provided
- Design an elimination diet using the tools provided
- Teach your client/family member to eliminate foods that hurt the gut and add in foods and protocols that heal the gut
- Determine how long they are willing and able to eliminate these foods, then guide them to reintroduce foods following the provocation process guidelines
- Coach your client/family member through the emotional process along with providing practical strategies
