Action Plan for Your Clients

#1: Have them eat whole food carbs.

Have your client examine their diet and replace refined carbs with whole foods as much as they possibly can.

#2: Help your client to go gluten-free.

Help your client to go gluten-free (See the Going Gluten-Free – Your Health Depends On It page for instructions, resources, recipes, and support). Teach your clients to read labels, and make sure they study the hidden sources charts that are available in the Eliminate The Gluten & Accelerate Your Health e-book.

#3: Have your client assess their body’s reactions to carbs.

If you haven’t already, have your client get a blood sugar meter and track how their body responds to carbs.

#4: Make sure your clients consume their ideal quantity of carbohydrates for blood sugar balance.

Help your client become aware of the carbohydrate content of foods, so that they can determine their ideal quantity of carbohydrates to keep blood sugar steady.

Have your client use the charts below to access the carbohydrate content of their foods.

#5: Consider blood testing for your client for a clearer understanding of how their body processes carbs.

If you really want to know how your client’s body is processing carbs, have them do some blood testing. In addition to fasting glucose, have them ask their doctor to order (or order through Direct Labs) the following tests: fasting insulin, hemoglobin A1c, and fructosamine.

#6: Consider a Modified Specific Carbohydrate Diet if your client suffers from persistent digestive difficulties.

If your client is having difficulty with their digestion, even after making the suggested changes you have given them, they may have a carbohydrate sensitivity that warrants stronger measures for a short while to allow their gut to calm down.

Modified Specific Carbohydrate Diet: This document provides a list of allowed foods and a list of foods to avoid if you want your client to follow a 30-day gut healing protocol.

#7: Help your client to adopt a positive outlook on change.
