Module 1: Unit 5: The Fitness Factor

Pre-Test

1
Completed the Pre-Test.

The purpose of the pretest is to see how much you know about a topic from the start.  The results will help you to determine where to focus your energy in studying.

The test is not graded. You will never be “penalized”  even if you get nothing correct.

I repeat for the perfectionists: This is a learning tool only; no grading!

#1. Trained muscle clears glucose more effectively than untrained muscle.
#2. ______ seconds of full intensity exercise elevates growth hormone more than 30 minutes of moderate intensity aerobics, and GH stays elevated for 90 minutes.
#3. Repeated exercise bouts during the day, well-spaced, have no effect upon total GH secretion.
#4. Which of these forms of exercise do not appear to have much of an effect upon insulin resistance?
#5. The optimal timing of sprints (speed bursts) appears to be how many minutes apart?
