As you work through the materials, your goals by the end will be to:
- Understand the importance of a thorough client history for getting to the root cause of issues
- Learn the components of a thorough health history
- Be able to use a short history to get the overview of the case and determine which of the detailed evaluations are important for drilling deeper
- Develop the skill of creating rapport, asking the right questions, and guiding the interview questions to keep the client focused and engaged
- Understand the importance of asking about environmental and emotional factors as obstacles to health
- Know how to get honest answers to questions about diet and habits
- Get comfortable motivating clients to do diet records, especially when concerned about food sensitivities
- Become familiar enough with all the “scorecard” evaluations to be able to interpret them with the client
- Create a library of forms you can use with your client to get a thorough history to help on a deep level
