Use the list below to put your learning into action. These action steps are optional to reinforce your learning. Completing these steps is beneficial in putting your newfound knowledge to use, but not required to complete the module.
Action Steps:
- After reviewing all the sample reports and cases in the module, choose a client, family member or yourself to assess.
- Order a complete thyroid panel and any additional tests you believe are indicated (ie cholesterol, vitamin D, comprehensive wellness panel, homocysteine, Vitamin A).
- Using the step by step process revealed in the videos and the charts provides, evaluate the serum lab tests for markers of thyroid function/dysfunction, and get the feel of integrating the test results with a history of any symptoms.
- Make notes about what pattern of thyroid function/dysfunction you assess from the lab work and history.
- Using the nutrition/pattern chart provided as a guideline, create a corresponding 4-6 week thyroid protocol with appropriate lifestyle, dietary, and supplement recommendations.
- Share your protocol in the Facebook group and encourage discussion with your colleagues.
- Reassess in 4-6 weeks using the symptom scorecard and temperature chart.
- Tweak program as needed.
- Use the Master Health Tracker (or similar client tracker) to record the initial and follow-up test results as well other history findings of importance, diet habits and your protocol.
